Strength is Never a weakness

Now a common theme I've seen with clients who struggle to gain lean mass is they have a poor strength deficit score.

This basically means they have very poor eccentric strength is relation to their concentric strength .

The term strength deficit is the difference is how much you can lower eccentrically under control and how much you can lift concentrically you should be considerably stronger eccentrically .

For example if you can lower 75kg under control in the bench press and can lift 50kg concentrically the your strength deficit is 150% which is good target

to shoot for when evaluating is concentric strength.
